VBS 2008

This week was a HUGE week for me! It's my favorite week of the year (next to Junior Camp week)...it's Vacation Bible School! Since I work in FBC's preschool ministry, it's a major undertaking--ordering curriculum for all the preschoolers, the art materials, the different things needed for the centers in every preschool room, recruiting the directors and volunteers for each room, getting snacks together for the kids, booking buses and bus sites around Dallas to take people to and from FBC, and so much more! And THEN the actual VBS week starts after that! :) It's a TON of work, but it's the BEST, FUNNEST week for everyone involved. The end result is that kids come away knowing more about Jesus' love. This year's theme was Outrigger Island, and everything was very Hawaiian and colorful. Here's some of the moments I was able to stop and take pictures of:
These guys made lei headbands! It's amazing what you can do with muffin paper liners!

I seemed to visit most rooms during their snack time!

Check out the boy in the right corner...I think he's giggin' em!

Here's a few kids at music time...

We had a special guest play "Jesus Loves Me This I Know" on his accordian, too! (Dr. Jeffress is our pastor!)

The children were so captivated!

There was lots of fun stuff to do...

The best part was, I got to see Mama and Matthew every day! :)

Now, I'm exhausted...but can't wait 'til VBS 2009! :)

The picture of your Mom and Matthew is so precious - he is growing up so fast! What a cutie!
