Lately...

I thought I'd tell you what Hattie's little personality has been like lately. We're on the down-slope of 2 with only 3 more months until she turns 3, and my, how things have changed! She's very independent, wanting to do almost everything by herself--go to the potty, put on her clothes, brush her hair, and even buckle herself into her carseat. With this indepence comes a great sense of accomplishment and pride when she does something on her own...coupled with frustration and stubborness...and just a little bit of defiance. Ahh, the joys of being a 2-year-old!

She has creative ideas of how she wants to play...she loves picnics, and taking walks with her "babies." Sometimes her stuffed dog, Blue Boy, is her baby, while other times she brings her Cinderella doll in the stroller. She is still our little singer-performer, however not ALL the time. You never know when she's "not feelin' it" and she retreats into her shy mode. Most of her days are spent playing, singing, dancing, twirling, coloring, reading, and digging in her flower pots in the back yard.

The picture below was all her idea. She thought we should eat on the porch for dinner, so she helped me cook dinner and get it out on the table! We surprised Daddy when he came home, and we enjoyed our special time together!
She's becoming a Daddy's girl, lately as well. I used to do everything (entire evening and morning routines) and now she wants Daddy to help with bathtime and singing her to sleep. It's very sweet, especially since she's been SUCH a Mama's girl her whole life until now! You can clearly see Jeremy's heart melt every time she asks for Daddy!
What a blessing our family is!
