Then Jeremy and I did a 5K as part of "Team Ella" to benefit the United Cerebral Palsy of North Texas. Ella is a precious preschooler in our ministry who has CP. She and her sweet family are SUCH a blessing and a testimony to ME, and I was so glad we could partner with them to raise support for the UCP. It was lots of fun, and the weather was perfect!
Then on Sunday, the preschool ministry hosted our annual Big Church Club Luncheon for all of our incoming kindergartners and their families! Kindergarten at FBC is a very big transitional year...it's their last year in Preschool Ministry, their first year in school, and their first year in...BIG CHURCH!!! It's funny how sometimes the parents are more apprehensive about taking their child to big church than the actual child! At the luncheon, we try to make the transition of it all a positive, exciting and motivating time! We give the parents a few quick reads about modeling worship, teaching their child, and dealing with the transitions that come with kindergartners! Then we give the children their own "Big Church Club" tote bag filled with things to occupy their idle hands during the sermon (model magic, crayons, coloring books, activity pages, etc.). OH, and all the kinders will wear their "I go to big church now" buttons on their shirts this Promotion Sunday! SO fun!
And lastly, I cooked an Asian-influenced dinner in honor of the Olympics (my gymnasts, swimmers, divers and runners did NOT disappoint! I'm so proud...and SLEEPY!!!!), and I thought I'd blog about it! We had sweet and sour chicken with rice and brocolli! And Granny never lets us forget...dinner is never over until the Blue Bell is served!

I don't know why I thought of this just now... but do you remember when we first moved into our Scandia apartment and we had to call someone to find out how to cook chicken? Wasn't it Granny we called?! Sometimes I am shocked we survived ;-)!! Loved the little update and the picture of you and Erin is just precious!!
You are just fabulous. I need to learn to live more like you. You are so funny and vibrant. You can tell it in your writing. The food looks good! Im impressed!
