Thanksgiving 2012

This Thanksgiving it was our turn to be with the Hunts in Longview, and we had a great time!  It's always so nice to get away from the busy-ness of Dallas and relax at the Hunt house!  The tall east Texas trees are all turning colors this time of year, too, so it's a beautiful time.  The only downside was the fact that poor Hattie was sick for the entire week.  She started running a HIGH fever the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and we are STILL waiting for that fever to break.  Despite our round the clock meds, her fever, cough, chills, runny nose, and aches haven't gone away for 6 days now.  Even though she was sick, we still had a great time, and Hattie managed to have fun, too.  Because of her sickness, however, I didn't come away with many pictures, but here are a few of our good times in Longview.
I HAD to make sure Hattie experienced the amazingness of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Poppa cooked an incredible spread for us to enjoy...this was just ONE of his many great dishes!
Isabelle was there, too!  Swingin' along for the ride...
Jason, Ashley, and Baby Isabelle's First Thanksgiving!
Poppa cooled down after dinner...
While Gramma cleaned up!
Hattie loooooves her Roger!
Reading with Gramma is nice, too. :)
Jeremy, on the other hand, was less than thrilled about our Target experience on Thursday night.  I roped him in to coming with me (I didn't want to experience it alone!), and the crowd was incredible!  The check-out line wrapped around the store, all the way to the back half of the store!  But we lived to tell the tale! :)
The next day everyone except me and Hattie went to Shreveport to the boardwalk for fun and shopping...Hattie basically did this all day instead.  Poor baby!
Roger sympathized with her!
Silly Roger made Hattie laugh when he wrestled with his blanket!
And we took a special trip to get an Icee...just to see if that would help Hattie's cough!  It was worth this smile!
Unfortunately, we had to leave Longview when Hattie was still sick and achey, but we all had a GREAT time spending time together as a family.  I am so thankful for a family who loves each other, who makes time for each other, and sticks with each other through thick and thin!  Happy Thanksgiving!
