We've given these up. It all started last weekend in Longview when Georgia accidentally bit through her pacifier. I had to cut the tip of it off to keep it from choking her, so we decided it was a natural time to pull the plug.
It's been a rough week. It's not that she's crying and asking for her paci, but all her emotions are just really heightened! If she's sad about something not going her way, she's REALLY sad and throwing fits! It's short-lived, thank goodness, and we're remaining consistent to help her, but MAN! It's not easy!
These cute girls had a fun Friday lunch at Cisco Grill together after Hattie had a half-day at school!
Hattie is in heaven in her 1st Grade Sunday School class because of Kinley. She has adored Kinley since they first met in KDO when they were 3...they're still best friends, and now they're finally in the same class for Sunday School!
This past week, Hattie has really grown in her independence as well as trying to do things for others. She has woken up on her own (with her own alarm clock), gotten her own breakfast every day, and even assigned me and Jeremy our own breakfasts!
Now that school has started, Hattie is back at work with me on Wednesday afternoons from 3:45-6 until Awana starts. She LOVES going to my cubicle and sifting through my props, biblical costumes and missionary outfits and eating popcorn that Ms. Jackie gives her every week!
And Georgia continues to melt the hearts of her teachers every day she is with them. They are always telling me what a great napper she is, how she comforts the other kids in the class when they are crying, and she even has a crazy-funny side to entertain them!
Perhaps the BIGGEST thing in our world lately has been THIS! Our fence!!!
These guys spent two days at our house, digging up the old chain-link fence and putting in this gorgeous, tall, stained fence! The best part is, the fence encloses our carport! Our previous fence did not enclose the driveway to our carport, so the girls have never had a safe place to ride anything with wheels...but now they do! YEA!!! And it makes our yard feel much bigger and much safer.
It was pretty fascinating to watch the process...
Before the end of Day 1, I took the girls out for some pictures because they looked SO CUTE in their new matching pjs! They're "two of a kind!"
Then the next day, I took the girls, BOTH GIRLS, to Home Depot for the Kids Workshop. It was so much fun! I've taken Hattie loads of times--she's a pro--but this was only Georgia's second time...she absolutely loved it. She was JUST as focused as Hattie was, and ate JUST as much popcorn and Tang as Hattie did when she was finished!
We inherited a Belle costume for Georgia and she finally fits it! The girls had the best time playing dress-up together!
Nonnie and I took Georgia to redeem our coupons for Bath and Body Works (gotta use those coupons!) and Georgia thoroughly enjoyed it. She always loves to sniff all the lotions and candles to help us make the best choice. :) Then we rewarded her by taking her to see the ducks...with her duck.
Life is sweet. It's busy, sometimes stressful, and soooooo tiring, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world! I am thankful for ALL our family and friends, our church and our home. We have so much to be grateful for.
