I'm almost caught up to current life as we know it! These pictures are from April, but they're too cute not to share! Here's G when she was all decked out for Kids Day Out! She picked everything out herself, including the sunglasses worn from her ears to her chin.
Then there was the night we let Hattie take a bath (as usual) on her own. She heard one of her friends from school talk about how she used coconut oil on her hair...so Hattie found an old bottle (from infant cradle cap days) of baby oil GEL and washed her hair with it...it was a disaster! I know there are greater problems in the world, but seriously...the picture below is after 7 washes with shampoo, dish soap, apple cider vinegar, and everything under the sun!
I resorted to baby powder and just waited until the next day to try washing it again. This girl..she's so sweet, so curious, so innocent (most of the time!). This truly was a learning experience for her.
The Prices came to FBD a few times over the last few months, too, so Molly and I decided we needed a picture of ourselves!
Playing in the backyard, making "food" for the birds to eat.
In children's choir this year, the kids were allowed to choose an elective (art, puppets, photography, wood shop, and dance). Hattie chose art, and had this beautiful nativity scene to display at the big spring showcase.
Hattie was in two different ensembles outside of the normal choir...we were so proud of her! She learned a LOT about harmony and holding her own part when others were singing a different melody! Now, she seriously makes up harmony to every song she sings!
I helped co-lead the puppet rotation with THIS lovely puppet master, Kendra. We had a great time teaching kids how to do puppets!
Over the last several months, Hattie has caught a serious reading bug! She reads ALL the time! She usually finishes chapter books on her age level in one or two days! To keep her challenged, I've been giving her books on about the 4th grade level...her favorites right now are the Little House series books! The last one she read was 300 pages and she finished it in one week! I'm so proud of her! To keep her interested and motivated, we've told her she can get a slurpee or a yogurt treat for every 5 books she reads. She loves it :)
Back in April, FBD had a "Back the Blue" Sunday, and we made sure to invite our local policemen.
Then the girls wore their matching blue on Sunday to show our support!
Soooooo, my friend Kylie and I really love weather-watching, we follow several weather apps and three different meteorologists on Facebook...and because of all those things, we have become QUITE the weather fans of WFAA (Channel 8) weather. Through an awesome connection, we were given a chance to watch a newscast AND meet our favorite weather man and weather girl!
Here we are with Pete Delkus!
And Colleen Coyle! It seriously was the coolest thing ever. I love news, I'm fascinated by how it all works, and I would love to go back and see more!
Georgia got a treat herself...she got to spend a week with Gramma and Poppa in Longview! She always has happy days in Longview, full of fun things to do. This time, they took her to pick strawberries and eat frozen yogurt!
Then we had Moms and Muffins at Grace...Hattie made me a necklace!
Georgia enjoyed the muffins...and the doughnut holes...and the juice...and the fruit...haha!
After eating dinner at our local El Fenix, Hattie did a pose for me to take a picture...
Then Georgia tried to do the same thing!!! Her arms aren't QUITE long enough to do it exactly!!
Hattie is wrapping up her last week of 1st Grade next week...can you believe it? Look how old she looks in this picture!!!
