The rest of the Memorial Day weekend was lots of fun! Since I'm no longer working on Sundays, we got to attend Woodland Hills' worship service! Jeremy, Poppa and I even sang a song together (Jeremy got to channel his inner Gaither-Crazy-High-Tenor!), and that was extra special. All the men and women who served in the different areas of the armed forces came down to the front of the church, and Poppa invited them to share their name, area of service and anything else they wanted to share. There were SO many veterans! And even several who were still in active duty! It made me so proud. It was a lovely tribute.
Before church that morning, we had some fun play time with Poppa and Roger (whom Georgia couldn't get enough of!).
Playing with sissy before she left for her Sunday School class.
After church, Georgia and Isabelle went for a ride together...
And then...it was time for THIS!
Hattie and all the kids played all night long in the cage area, riding bikes and scooters.
Georgia was content with Gramma and her endless supply of Cheerios.
Hattie loves her Isabelle!
Jeremy and Hattie led the congregation in patriotic singing...
Everybody went swimming on Monday!
Of course, a trip to Longview isn't complete without spending time with Ms. Mary next door! Ms. Mary always gives Hattie treats...this time, Hattie came home with a bag full of candy, flowers, onions, and other treasures she found to pick from the garden.
All the while, Poppa was busy cooking a feast for us to eat for lunch!
Georgia enjoyed climbing all over him, too!
My favorite pics of the weekend!!!
What a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!! We are ever-thankful for the many men and women who gave their lives so that we could be free.
