Summer Has Begun!

This summer began with a major life-change for me...to make a long story short, I met with the headmaster of Hattie's school, gave him my resume in hopes of joining their substitute teacher list for the fall, and five days later (after two interviews and one observation) they offered me the JOB as one of their four PreK-4 teachers!  This was obviously God's direction for me as well as His way of providing for our family.  I am very excited and overwhelmed about this change!  My last week at FBD is next week.  Then I will take two weeks to do nothing and the last week of July will be spent doing major prep work!
Moving on!  We've had our fair share of crawfish this summer!
Fun Friday lunches with cousins!
And even fun Sunday lunches!
Georgia randomly shouted out for me to come see what she had done the other day...and it turned out...she drew her first G!
Hattie got to go to TWO art camps this year!  She was so fulfilled!
Georgia was sad she couldn't stay for camp...
This particular day, her art camp was at her school...because I had paperwork for myself to turn in, I went into the office.  I turned around and saw this picture from when Hattie was in Kindergarten last year hanging on the wall!  This was apparently a library day (and a "go ahead, Hattie, do your hair yourself" day at home)!  So I took a picture of the picture!
We've had some interesting playtimes at home.  The beginning of the summer was flooding and rainy...Hattie decided to recreate the tale of Rapunzel here with blocks and legos.
Then, Mr. Don's house was torn down (next door to Nonnie and Grandad's house).  Georgia got to watch the bulldozer do some crazy work!
We also spent a LOT of time at the church...prepping for VBS during the week and working in the large group room on Sunday mornings.  Here, because I had to work in Kids Cove all morning and wasn't able to take Hattie to Big Church, she stayed with me during the second hour and helped me!
I taught her how to scroll through the lyrics of the songs we sing as they are projected on the big screens.  She did a fantastic job!
And while Hattie spent her days at her different art camps and play dates with friends, Georgia came to church while I worked on VBS drama and large group planning!
This was the day I drove Jeremy's car so that I could fit a 5 foot wide clam and 6 foot tall pipe coral in the car and get it to church from our house!
On off days, we spent as much of our time at the pool as we could!
Here's Hattie getting a little pictorial with all her "glasses" pics at Nonnie and Grandad's house!
"Take a deep breath..."
VBS is coming!!!
