My last week of work at FBD was so much fun...and yet filled with many tears, because I know how much I will miss my coworkers! It's not really goodbye, but at the same time, I won't see them hardly at all anymore! We're such a close team! Here's my buddy Earnest...he's my favorite person to eat BBQ or Bubba's with! On this day, he took me to Bubba's for lunch, but we swung by Baby Back Shack for some boudin to go! He's the sweetest!
Then the Kids Cove staff (as a reward for a job well done at VBS this year) took a road trip to Waco to the Magnolia Silos! It was such a blast!
It was crooooooowded!
THIS lunch was SO GOOD!
Then began my journey to my PreK room at Grace Academy...I decided it was time to get my feet wet and start nesting. This is what it looked like when I first walked into the room...ever!
Hattie was such a great helper...she sorted all my construction paper!
The only thing I could accomplish on the first day was this. The left side of the picture shows what the closet looked like when I opened it. The right side of the closet is how I left it! MUCH better!
As the summer drew to a close, I found myself doing TONS of prep work to actually make the room usable! I had to label cubbies, centers, shelves, make bulletin boards, hang my calendar and so much more!
The name on the plaque outside my door made it seem REALLY real!
Georgia helped me "nest" and organize the Home Living Center.
And Hattie, of course, was testing out my Art Center to make sure it was very user-friendly!
Jeremy even came up on a Monday night to help me hang my Dr. Seuss decor (the pom moms and trees)...He was SOOOO amazing!
Finally, the room was ready!
Then we had "Meet The Teacher!" It took on a whole new meaning for me this year!
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! I can't believe Hattie is a 2nd Grader!
Our principal, Mrs. Smith, prayed for Hattie when she confessed that she was really nervous!
God answered all our prayers, because we made it through our first day of school together! We even rewarded ourselves with a special meal at Northpark!
It was a win!
