Paris...Day 3

We began day 3 at the Louvre museum!
If you ever wondered what the pyramid looks like underground, this is it!  It's inverted!
Here, we focused Napoleon's apartments...
They were insanely grand!
The Crown Jewels
The Mona Lisa, of course!
We even took a selfie with her!
St. Francis of Assisi
Then we finally went to the Musee de l'Orangerie and saw Monet's Water Lilies!
We had no idea that the Water Lilies were actually FOUR different canvases shaped in an oval!  To view them, you walk through two oval-shaped rooms and see them on each wall.  Jeremy made me laugh because he thought he had found a third room of Water Lilies, when really he had just walked into the first room again!
This picture has special meaning to us because we would have NEVER known the artist, Modigliani, if it had not been for Hattie!  She learned about him in her art class a few weeks before our trip and taught us about him.  Low and behold, he was a very famous artist, and we recognized his work by what we learned from Hattie!
Outside the Musee de l'Orangerie were the Tuileries Gardens...it was a much-needed break for our tired feet and so gorgeous!
The sun was shining!
Then we found a neighborhood called Rue de Cler...the street was full of people, tourists, bakers, florists, and artists.
These macaroons were oh so tempting!
We stopped at this bistro called Le Petit Cler, and it was a perfect place for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up!
I had the most delicious cup of hot chocolate I have ever had in my entire life!  And the creme brûlée wasn't bad either!
And on the way to the Army Museum at Les Invalides, we saw the Eiffel Tower again...this time through a bit of overcast fog.
The Army Museum was originally built by Louis the XIV as a hospital and home for the disabled soldiers.  Now it houses the Tomb of Napoleon and the Museum of the Army of France.
There he is!
Then we took a night cruise down the river to see the city, buildings and monuments lit up for the night!
The Musee d'Orsay
Notre Dame

We had to kiss when we went under the Love Lock Bridge!
We had another gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower in the night clouds.
After the river cruise, we went to the plaza where most people go to get the best sight of the Eiffel Tower.  It was so perfect!
We officially fell in love with Paris!
