Here are a few of the things we did between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day...it was a busy month!
Hattie FINISHED her first chapter book! She read the entire book all by herself without any assistance! And she loved it! Nancy Clancy books are going to be a favorite!
Then I heard this conversation during snack time after school one day...
Georgia: "Here, Hattie. I make your back feel better."
Hattie: "But my back doesn't hurt."
Georgia: "I make it feel better, Hattie."
After I walked Hattie into her classroom one day, I found Georgia sitting in the booster seat we left in the hallway (to be used that day for a field trip). She looked so funny to me!
The Grace Academy 1st Graders sang Christmas carols to the residents at an assisted living facility in Dallas.
Hattie got to read a passage from the Bible in front of everyone!
Here's Hattie's 1st Grade class at their Christmas choir concert. They were so cute!
My choir buddies at our last rehearsal before our big Christmas performance!
Georgia and I made a million forgotten cookies this Christmas season!
She quite enjoyed it!
And Hattie got the privilege of being "the girl on the sled" in the Christmas show! This was extra fun because she got to wear MAKE-UP!!!
I have loved watching Hattie make friends in children's choir who are outside of her grade and Sunday School class.
The Ballet Magnificat dancers were breathtaking this year. We HAD to meet them!
Sweet girls on Sunday morning :)
Georgia loves Ms. Bryne!
Then Georgia got sick! She started of with an ear infection, croup and bronchiolitis, but then four days later it had progressed into walking pneumonia! She was pretty puny.
It wasn't fun at all, but she still looked really cute!
And she still wanted to play beauty shop!
And she still wanted to wear four headbands at a time!
All the while, Hattie and Isabelle went for a ride on The Polar Express in Palestine with Gramma and Poppa! What a special treat!
Then Georgia started to feel better!
I could start to see the sparkle in her eyes again!
And then Gramma and Poppa came over and loved on her when they brought Hattie back from her trip on the Polar Express. I think that was the key...she started feel MUCH better after that!
Then, in true Hunt fashion, Hattie came down with the exact same virus and walking pneumonia as Georgia had! We didn't do anything for the next four days except sleep, take medicine, do breathing treatments, watch tv, and PRAY for both girls to stop coughing and for Hattie's fever to break. On Christmas Day, God answered our prayers!
